AP Accounting Assistant 

Seeking a highly skilled and dedicated AP Accounting Assistant to join a Camarillo accounting office. In this crucial role, you will provide comprehensive accounting to support controller and other managers, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our operations. The position is an in-office role. 

Job Description (including but not limited to the following): 

  • Accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, approvals, record keeping, check printing 
  • Maintain vendor records, handle inquiries, and ensure compliance with vendor requirements. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. 
  • Minimal accounts receivable 
  • Enter daily sales into the general ledger system and ensure accurate record-keeping. 
  • Support the controller in various accounting tasks, such as account reconciliations, sales tax and journal entries. 
  • Perform additional tasks as requested 

Skills and Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Higher education / degree is desired but not required 
  • Three plus years of relevant experience and/or training in accounting or bookkeeping 
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and practices 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to handle confidential and complex situations with professionalism and discretion 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping 
  • Skilled in operating standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, telephone systems, calculators, copiers, scanners and facsimile machines.  
  • Politeness, confidence, tact, patience and diplomacy while dealing with complex and confidential situations.  
  • Should have impressive telephone etiquette. Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively across all levels of the business organization are necessary. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Intermediate level command of QuickBooks Desktop is required 
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel 

This is a temp to hire position located in the Conejo Valley area.  This is an In-office position (NOT remote or hybrid).  The pay range dependent on experience is $25 to $28 per hour.
