LEGAL ADMIN ASSISTANT
A Thousand Oaks law firm is currently seeking a Legal Admin Assistant and Case Manager with a minimum of five (5) years of personal injury and litigation experience for a personal injury practice. Must be a bilingual Spanish speaker.
Job Description (including but not limited to the following):
- New client intake
- Investigate and obtain necessary facts and evidence to assist in the proper prosecution of the case
- Contact appropriate medical providers to setup initial client treatments and follow-up on client’s progress
- Order, review, and summarize all medical records
- Open claims with Insurance companies
- Assist clients with resolving a property damage claim
- Maintain and update client’s file, ensure all files are organized, completed and ready for demand
- Negotiate liens with medical providers, Medicare, Medical and Private Insurances
- Draft initial discovery, correspondence, and various pleadings for attorney review
- Filing of documents with various courthouses
- Other administrative tasks as needed
Skills and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Additional higher education is preferred
- Must have a positive attitude, a professional and pleasant demeanor and some direct experience in customer service on telephone and/or in person is very helpful
- Must have 5 years’ personal injury/litigation experience
- Proficient Computer skills (Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and Outlook), must be a quick learner
- Clear and accurate communication skills in English and Spanish
- Excellent written communication skills
- Able to work under pressure, self-reliant, and can prioritize workload
- Familiarity with Abacus
- Must be organized and be a team player
This is a temporary to hire position located in the Thousand Oaks area. The pay range is $22.50 – $25 hourly.
